Hydromorphone Rapid Test

Intended Use 

Hydromorphone Rapid Test (Urine) is a rapid visual immunoassay for the qualitative presumptive detection of hydromorphone and other opiates in human urine specimens at the cut-off concentrations. Hydromorphone Rapid Test (Urine) is for professional in vitro diagnostic use, and should be only used for the qualitative detection of hydromorphone.

Introduction

The hydromorphone (HMO) is a derivative of morphine. it can be said that hydromorphone is to morphine as hydrocodone is to codeine and, therefore, a semi-synthetic drug. Hydromorphone is commonly used in the hospital setting, mostly intravenously (IV) because its bioavailability orally, rectally, and intranasally is very low. But a positive test result does not automatically mean that an abuse of drugs has been taken place since also some fully legally taken medicaments do contain opiates (e.g. codeine).
