E. Histolytica + Crypto + Giardia Lamblia Combo Rapid Test

Intended Use

E. histolytica + Crypto + Giardia lamblia Combo Rapid Test is an in vitro immunoassay for the direct and qualitative detection of Entamoeba histolytica, Cryptosporidum and Giardia lamblia from human feces. 

E. histolytica + Crypto + Giardia lamblia Combo Rapid Test is intended to aid in the rapid diagnosis of Amebiasis, Cryptosporidiosis and Giardiasis. 

Principle

The E. histolytica + Crypto + Giardia lamblia Combo Rapid Test Device (Feces) is composed of three test strips: E. histolytica test strip, Crypto test strip and Giardia lamblia test strip.

The E. histolytica test strip detects E. histolytica through visual interpretation of color development. Anti-E. histolytica antibodies are immobilized on the test region of the nitrocellulose membrane. A fecal sample is added to the sample diluent tube with buffer to release the parasitic antigens. During testing, the extracted antigens bind to anti-E. histolytica antibodies conjugated to colored particles on the sample pad. As the specimen migrates along the strip by capillary action and interacts with reagents on the membrane, the complex will be captured by anti-E. histolytica antibodies at the detection zone.

The Crypto test strip detects Cryptosporidium through visual interpretation of color development. Anti-Cryptospordium antibodies are immobilized on the test region of the nitrocellulose membrane. A fecal sample is added to the sample diluent tube with buffer to release the parasitic antigens. During testing, the extracted antigens bind to anti- Cryptospordium antibodies conjugated to colored particles on the sample pad. As the specimen migrates along the strip by capillary action and interacts with reagents on the membrane, the complex will be captured by anti- Cryptospordium antibodies at the detection zone. 

The Giardia lamblia Test strips detects G. lamblia through visual interpretation of color development. Anti-G. lamblia antibodies are immobilized on the test region of the nitrocellulose membrane. A fecal sample is added to the sample diluent tube with buffer to release the parasitic antigens. During testing, the extracted antigens bind to anti-G. lamblia antibodies conjugated to colored particles on the sample pad. As the specimen migrates along the strip by capillary action and interacts with reagents on the membrane, the complex will be captured by anti-G. lamblia antibodies at the detection zone. 

The presence of a colored band in the test region (T) indicates a positive result for the particular antigens, while its absence indicates a negative result. A colored band at the control region (C) serves as a procedural control, indicating that membrane wicking is working.
