Milk Allergy Test

Intended Use

Milk Allergy Test is a rapid test for the qualitative determination of Milk specific Immunoglobulin E (sIgE) in human serum, plasma or whole blood. The test, in conjunction with other clinical observations, is intended to identify the patient whose allergic symptoms maybe mediated by Milk -specific immunoglobulin E (IgE)Type I hypersensitivity.

Milk Allergy Test has been designed to detect Milk sIgE through visual interpretation of color development in the internal strip.

Introduction

A milk allergy is a food allergy, an adverse immune reaction to one or more of the constituents of milk from any animal (most commonly alpha S1-casein, a protein in cow's milk). This milk induced allergic reaction can involve anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening condition .About 2.5 percent of children under three years old are allergic to milk. Nearly all infants who develop an allergy to milk do so in their first year of life.

A person with milk allergy can be reactive to one of dozens of the proteins within milk. The most common one is alpha S1-casein.
