D-Dimer Rapid Test

Intended Use

D-Dimer Rapid Test is used for the qualitative detection of D-dimer in human whole blood and plasma; D-Dimer Rapid Test is used as an aid in the assessment and evaluation of patients with suspected disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and pulmonary embolism (PE).

D-Dimer is a fibrin degradation product, a small protein fragment present in the blood after a blood clot is degraded by fibrinolysis. It is so named because it contains two D fragments of the fibrin protein joined by a cross-link.

What is the D-Dimer Test use for

A D-Dimer test is often used to check for blood clotting disorder which can cause health problems, such as:

● Stroke

● Pulmonary embolism (PE)

● Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

● Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC)

Specimen Collection and Storage

● The kit should be stored at 2-30°C until the expiry date printed on the sealed pouch.

● The test must remain in the sealed pouch until use.

● Do not freeze.

● Care should be taken to protect the components of the kit from contamination.
